THE CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE ©2007 Merry C. Battles With the world in chaos how can we truly celebrate the birth of the Christ Spirit within each one of us? Each year Christmas comes to show us the way to peace. Peace in our lives and peace within. There is a great feeling of goodwill and love that envelopes the earth. How can we continue to express this love all throughout the year? Jesus came to earth, as others did before Him, to set the pattern for perfected men and women. His life was an example to follow. The keynote of His time here was Love. He always showed each one He touched a blessing from His heart. Ancient and modern religion has classified Him as the “only begotten Son of God.” Begotten means “becoming.” They set Him up as the one and only soul who could have the Great Spirit work entirely through Him. That leaves a whole lot of souls out in the cold! Why are we here? What is this glorious game all about? Why are we challenged every day to see, “Loving kindness out of the roughest strokes of God.” If we believe in divine order we can see that all of our experiences are for our highest good…the best way we can learn something we need to know. The Christ Consciousness is a state of mind. It is the possibility of making a million right decisions. It is becoming the “Love of God made manifest.” It is the process of perfecting one’s soul to always answer with love. In our many lifetimes we are offered many possibilities. Do we allow selfish temptation to act in our lives? Do we take the higher road and make decisions that will open up our hearts and minds a little further? This Christmas may the reality of the Christ Consciousness enter our world of thought. May this great work become alive in us to bring us one step further on our path to becoming a Christed soul.
